We are always working on new parts and products for your trucks. In this visit to “The Parts Bin”, we’re highlighting some recently developed and released products: 2nd Gen Battery Hold Downs, Trans Line Pressure Gauges, Barring Tools, Delivery Valve Sockets, and Turbo Flanges.
2nd Gen Battery Hold Down
The battery hold downs in 2nd gen Cummins are over 20 years old at this point. They were tragic to begin with, but if you own a 2nd gen, you know that time hasn’t been kind to these parts. We’ve seen everything from rusted out hold downs that barely hold the battery in, to bungee cords and duct tape as a replacement. This is why we designed and built a replacement hold down.
We designed, built, and manufactured a new billet battery hold down for 2nd gen Cummins. Our new hold down also includes new hardware and bolts to connect the hold down to the battery shelf.
You should know that these are sold individually, so if you have two batteries in your truck, you’ll need to order two separate hold downs.
Transmission Line Pressure Gauge
We are really excited about this new transmission line pressure gauge. We have never seen one of these (not saying they don’t exist) and we decided to make one. In any automatic transmission it is critical that you know what your transmission line pressure is. If it gets too low, your clutch will slip and you’ll burn up your transmission.
One example, if you have a new transmission that you aren’t great at servicing, eventually all that beak-in material is going to plug your filter and you’ll lose pressure. You may normally run at 150psi, and start to see pressure drop to 130psi or 120psi, etc. This can indicate a clogged filter and drop in pressure before it becomes a bigger problem.
Delivery Valve Socket
We designed this delivery valve socket to work with a variety of delivery valve holders. One of the problems we have found in the past is that delivery valve sockets did not work with painted valve holders. Forcing the socket to fit would ruin the threads and cause problems. This is designed to work with any P-Pump delivery valve holder.
Our socket also has a hex-head and is shorter than other delivery valve sockets. This allows you to fit it under your air horn and use a box end wrench to remove your delivery valves. This will save you time and work when you are accessing your valves.
Engine Barring Tool
Our engine barring tool is designed to bolt on under your damper bolts on the front of your motor. Then, you simply grab it with a socket or wrench and bar your engine over. P-Pump owners will find this extremely handy, especially if you have an adjustable timing gear. You’ll be able to quickly adjust timing for different needs (dyno runs, etc.).
Turbo Drain Flange
We designed this new turbo drain flange to be as universal as possible. We made it o-ring fit, so you don’t need a gasket. We are also including a number of bolts so it will fit on a variety of turbos from Holset to Borg Warner.
