In our latest video, we take bone-stock 1998 Cummins diesel (there is a cold air box, but nothing else) and run it on the dyno. Then, we install AFC LIVE and compare the results.
Test 1: 1998 Ram Diesel Stock Setup Dyno Test
This truck comes from the manufacturer with 180hp to the crank. Not a lot of power, and not a lot of fun to drive. In our first dyno test of this truck, we ran it up to about 96 mph and 2,400 rpm, we planned on taking it to 2500 rpm but the truck would not let us!
Our test revealed that 163hp makes it to the ground and max torque is 368 ft/lbs. These trucks will run forever at this power level, but there is definitely room for improvement.
Test 2: Cummins Diesel with AFC LIVE Fueling Control
In test two, we ran up to around 2,500rpm. With AFC LIVE, we were able to push the truck a little higher than stock. We got max power with AFC LIVE up to 337hp (almost exactly double), and torque reached 932lbs!
You also may have noticed that the AFC LIVE was a lot faster than the first run. Both took the dyno drum from 1,300 to 2,400rpm. Run one took us about 40 seconds before we gave up. AFC LIVE took us right around 9 or 10 seconds to do the same job.
Using AFC LIVE and our max travel kit, we were able to double to power of this truck. And it can do the same for your diesel. Pick one up today in the shop.
