This Power Driven turbine housing utilizes a “non-divided” single-scroll design. This design is superior when the turbo is utilized as the “large” or “atmosphere” turbo in a compound turbo system.
The standard divided “twin scroll” housings are intended to harness the exhaust pulse energy of each cylinder, which will spool a turbo up quicker when mounted to an exhaust manifold. When the turbo receives its exhaust from the outlet of a smaller turbo, the “pulse” energy is gone. At this point, a divided housing is less efficient than a non-divided housing.
This housing started life as a 1.15 A/R housing, and then we removed the divider. With the divider gone, it acts more like a 1.35 A/R housing, even outflowing the standard 1.32 A/R housing.
We recommend this housing for any turbo mounted as the large turbo in a compound turbo system. Also, we recommend this as the manifold housing for a competition engine where melting out the divider is of bigger concern than quick spool-up. If the turbo is mounted on the manifold and quick spool-up is important, we would recommend the 1.15 A/R divided housing.
We offer this housing in 2 configurations:
Option 1: T6 flange with a 4.625” V-band discharge, which will easily mate to a 4” downpipe
Option 2: T6 flange with standard 5” full Marmon outlet
