Power Driven Diesel offers this gold “round” governor pressure sensor/transducer for 1996-1999 Dodge 47RE transmissions. This will not fit 2000-2007 47RE and all 48RE transmissions that require the “square” black-colored pressure sensor.
Common symptoms/transmission problems associated with a bad governor pressure sensor include: poor downshift timing, hanging in third or second gear on downshifts, delayed upshifts, hanging in first or second gear on upshifts, and third-gear limp mode. This sensor provides temperature and governor pressure information to the PCM—with bad information, the PCM cannot properly control shifts and usually a “stuck in third-gear” limp mode will eventually occur.
