The Power Driven Diesel 134 lb 24v Race Conical Valve Springs were created to address valve float on high performance 24v Cummins race engines making 100+ psi boost pressure. We found in testing various available 24v springs that valve float and resulting cam, lifter, valve, and retainer damage was common as RPM surpassed 5000 RPM or as boost surpassed 100 psi. After destroying tappets and a camshaft on Todd’s 6.4L p-pumped 24v, and destroying valves and chromoly retainers on Myer’s 6.7 Common Rail, we have developed a new race conical valve spring with enough seat pressure to handle 100+ boost and a conical design to dampen valve spring harmonics that occur between 5000 and 6000 RPM. We recommend these valve springs for all 24v Cummins engines pushing over 80 psi boost and/or 4800 RPM. These performance valve springs will dramatically reduce or prevent valve float, and we recommend them for all dedicated race applications.
Seat Pressure 134 lbs at 1.38” Installed Height
Open Pressure 213 lbs at 0.906” (0.474” valve lift)
