These springs are much taller than stock valve springs so definitely more closed seat pressure. I feel way better about higher revving. Replace your valve seals while you’re in there, at least exhaust side…. Be CERTAIN about rotating the crank to the right position so your valve doesn’t fall through! This was easier because I had the injectors out so I could verify piston position with a flashlight. As far as hindsight goes, just add on the chromoly retainers and locks and be done with it… Get the bundle deal. I was trying to save a few bucks at the time because I have cheapskate syndrome and thought I wouldn’t be revving very high, but plans change… The idea of dropping a valve at 3krpm freaks me out. Now I wish I had just bit the bullet and added them on. I have to do the whole job over again to put in the stronger retainers and locks that I should have SPRRUNG for in the first place, and now I gotta pay full price. Also, the PDD chromoly retainers add a little more seat pressure. Seems like a no-brainer now. Learn from my mistake. These are high quality parts and totally worth it.
