Because of the popularity of the TP38r turbo for the OBS trucks, KC have made a smaller version of the turbo for those running average size injectors. Also known as the KC TP38r 63/73 Turbo. The 63mm compressor wheel is drastically different, It is a larger, 7×7 wheel and is modeled after the 366sxe compressor wheel. KC TP38r 63/73 Turbo has the same profile, shape, and blade style, except it is reverse rotation. This wheel is not only bigger, but stronger. It has thicker blades, thicker hub, and thicker backing, this makes it much less prone to fatigue and wheel burst. The turbine wheel is also much larger, 74mm vs the old 70mm and increased shaft thickness from a 6.4mm to a 7.5mm. They have found that some brands have clearance issues and might cause the brake to hinder performance, rub the turbine wheel, or cause other issues.
