The Fleece SureFlo FPE-SF-CUMM-0509 Performance Sending Unit will improve fuel flow and resolve 1/4 tank issues in your 2005-2009 Dodge 5.9L/6.7L Diesel. You will need to drill the fuel tank to accommodate a sump or run a draw straw if you are running a frame-rail-mounted aftermarket lift pump. Both approaches have drawbacks, such as cavitation inside the pump when air is sucked into the fuel system because the tank is less than 1/4 full.
The Fleece FPE-SF-CUMM-0509 SureFlo Performance Sending Unit is engineered to work with aftermarket lift pumps. This direct-fit replacement sending unit offers easy installation with no modification to the tank needed as the factory-style quick disconnects adapt to the stock fuel lines at the tank. This unit works by taking diesel from the unit’s base bucket assembly and returning it to the bucket assembly. This assures that fuel, rather than air, is drawn into the pump while also removing the likelihood of 1/4 tank issues. The SureFlo sending unit’s one-way check valves allow diesel to flow in freely even at low fuel levels.
