This is a four paddle, free travel, Spicer design clutch kit. This style of clutch disc has proven itself over the past twenty years in the semi industry. This clutch disc is designed to absorb the vibrations of the diesel engine and give the ability to haul heavy loads without causing premature disc failure.
The OEM Ford 6 speed clutch system also has the reoccuring problem of throwing the springs from the disc resulting in clutch failure. This clutch has features built in to eliminate this problem. This disc with modified pressure plate, bolts directly to the OEM solid flywheel and will handle up to 400 hp. and 800 ft. lbs of torque. This kit replaces the factory needle roller style pilot bearing (failures easily and often occur with this type of design). Your new clutch will come with a Kevlar bearing to correct this problem. Kit does not include clutch fork or pivot unless added below.
The kit features, Kevlar and Carbotic to create a multi-friction. This combination of materials that have proven themselves over the years. The Kevlar material is applied to the pressure plate side and the Carbotic is applied to the flywheel side of the clutch disc. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This clutch is best suited for performance and towing purposes.
